When do i need a myssa account?
We strongly recommend bringing in your login and password for your myssa account when you first come into our office.
If we are going to be filing a new application with you, using your myssa account to file the application will make the process much faster and easier. If you don’t have an account, then Social Security will have to mail you a copy of the application that we file, which you will sign and mail back. This adds weeks to the process, and if it gets lost in the mail, then it can take even longer.
If we are going to be helping you with an appeal, then we can file everything without your account. However, we still recommend that you create an account. A myssa account will allow you to follow along with the status of your case. Sometimes, it will even include details that Social Security does not release to us!

If you have problems creating an account, you can call SSA directly or call us to set up an appointment with our office in Mandeville, Louisiana and see if we can help.
